Reality, Illusion and Lots of People

I just finished reading my first Kurt Vonnegut novel. I have also been reading about string theory lately and it has given me many ideas.

Does anyone know of any experiments done with masses of people - i.e. they put 10,000 people in a stadium and tried to levitate some object by asking everyone to concentrate on the task?

I know the power of a crowd. Having witnessed first hand 107,000 screaming people go entirely silent, it leaves an imprint.
