Mutinyblogging Begins

"A retarded jellyfish could make a better movie than this." - Tom Servo

Last year at this time, after the post-election hangover pushed my cynicism to record levels, I decided to launch Eegahblogging, and use the best jabs from that Mystery Science Theatre 3000 episode to lead my path back to sanity. It worked so well that I'm doing it again this year; this time with an even more absurd experiment from the Satellite of Love: Space Mutiny.

Space Mutiny is the story of an insurgency on a spaceship warehouse captained by Santa Claus. The hero is a massive chunk of manliness named Dave Ryder, who is called upon to fight Kalgan and his rebel army of aim-challenged railing fodder.

However, I'm starting a new full-time job this week, and it's one I'm pretty excited about (I'll be working with Greenwave). Working in the software industry, I've always had to keep my work and blogging separate, but I hope to one day merge the two endeavors into one. On that note, I'm going to keep doing the Drug War roundups (posting them on the weekend now, instead of Thurs-Fri) and will occasionally let the wisdom of Mike Nelson and the bots trigger some other tangential thoughts.

In theory, there are like 16 people who can post here at Reload, so I have no idea what's going to happen here during the week, but it'll probably be quieter than normal in 2006. However, besides the roundups and posting local drug war news to Washblog, I plan to work on a few more things (I have another game I want to make, and Greenwave and I set up a fantasy football backend database this season that I'm hoping to do a lot more with in the future). This blog is definitely a long-term project, and I hope to once again have as much time to write as I've had this past month.
