Pathetic Propaganda of the Day
You've gotta be kidding me:
Do these researchers really not understand how ridiculous they sound to those of us still residing here on Earth?
Heavy marijuana use can boost blood levels of a particular protein, perhaps raising a person's risk of a heart attack or stroke, U.S. government researchers said on Tuesday. Why was there doubt about the findings?
Dr. Jean Lud Cadet of the National Institute on Drug Abuse, part of the National Institutes of Health, said the findings point to another example of long-term harm from marijuana. But marijuana activists expressed doubt about the findings.
The marijuana users in the study averaged smoking 78 to 350 marijuana cigarettes per week, based on self-reported drug history, the researchers said.First of all, if you're even capable of smoking 350 joints in a week (that's 50 a day!), you must be doing it wrong. Second, even at the low end (still over 10 joints a day), the NORML blog points out that according to the government's own standards defining the weight of a single marijuana cigarette that would be 2 ounces. 2 fucking ounces! A week! That's more than I've smoked in the past 5 years.
